R3VOLVE
Motion Graphics for Brett Crawford
R3VOLVE is a large-scale painting by Brett Crawford (72” x 72” acrylic on linen over a shaped cradled wood panel), created for his solo exhibition WAST3D POT3NTIAL presented by Phillips Auction, Hong Kong. I was commissioned to transform this artwork into a dynamic animation sequence, designed to expand the narrative of the piece and present it on three large digital screens during the exhibition.

Creative Approach
The painting features 12 distinct characters, symbolizing both the 12 hands of a clock and the 12+ hours per day the artist dedicates to his craft. My role was to amplify this concept through motion graphics, bringing the figures into movement while respecting the original painterly aesthetic.
- Clock-inspired rhythm guided the animation flow, emphasizing the cyclical theme.
- Character-driven motion to animate each of the 12 figures, creating interplay between them.
- Layered visual storytelling that mirrored Crawford’s reflections on time, dedication, and creativity.
- Immersive gallery display, designed to loop seamlessly across three synchronized screens.
